Opti Registration Form

2012 Optimist sailing classes:

Kinderpram 5 - 6 years

Beginner 6 + (having finished 1st grade) 2 times

Intermediate/
Advanced		 8 - 12 years (must have completed Beginner class or be allowed into the class by age and ability) 2 times

Opti Racing have sailed alone for at least 2 years   $300
CAMP
Registration		 6 - 12 (having finished 1st grade)   $175

Opti Racing Class.  This class is designed specifically for the serious Opti racer.  Children will need to have sailed alone for at least 2 years.  Class will focus on dry land instruction, racing and racing tactics, such as roll tacking, buoy rounding and downwind maneuvers.  If you are uncertain as to whether your sailor qualifies for this class, please email or call me.

Opti classes will be held as follows:

Sailing will begin on Monday, June 11th and end on Wednesday, August 8 for Optis.  All classes will again be held at the North Lake Yacht Club on Northwoods Dr.  There will be no regular Opti Class the week of July 4. Camp ‘Sail Away’ is scheduled for July 2, 3, 5 and 6.

Our list of  Opti classes and class times are below (sailors should have boats in the water and ready to sail by class time).

Beginner Monday & Wednesday (10:00 am-12:30)
Intermediate Monday & Wednesday (1:30 pm-4:30)
Intermediate Tues & Thurs (9:30 am-12:30)
Opti Advanced Tues & Thurs (1pm-4:00)
Opti Racing Class Tues & Thurs (12 pm-3:30)
Kinderprams Friday 10am – noon,  6/22, 6/29, 7/13, 7/20 & 8/3
Beginner Camp July 2, 3, 5 and 6 (9am – 12:30)
Advanced Camp July 2, 3, 5 and 6 (1pm – 4:30)

 

Opti Infos

As in the past, opti students (including campers!) are offered the opportunity to race in the following on-lake races called Series Races on Saturdays.  These Series Races are optional for a fee of $10 per Saturday.  The dates are as follows:
